The vice Governor of this Chinese region has welcomed counsellor Marta Gastón as she ends her official visit to the Asian country
“We can and should collaborate with Aragon,” commented the vice governor of Zhejiang, Gu Jianxin, at the reception given to the councillor Marta Gastón as a farewell to her official visit to the Asian country. Many meeting points have been established in their interview and subsequent working lunch, as both regions are committed to the promotion of logistics as a factor of sustainable growth, the two highlight their good connectivity with the surrounding markets, the economic development and its relative weight in the contribution to the GDP of their countries, with income and quality of life indexes above their respective national averages. “This has allowed us to establish excellent communication, strengthen links and therefore, boost economic relations between their companies”, which offers outstanding opportunities for the Aragonese business network. This was summarised by Marta Gastón after the meeting, held at region’s Department of Foreign Affairs, the fourth richest in the country, with a population of 50 million people and a world centre for electronic commerce and one of the biggest reference points in the world in terms of wholesale trade.
“The mutual interest in developing business relationships allows us to enter a market which really has a global dimension,” the counsellor comments after her meeting in which Jianxin promised to promote the development of joint projects and “open the doors of our companies to Aragon.” Among other multinationals, the region’s capital hosts one of Huawei’s largest research and development centres, a company which Gastón visited yesterday and still does not have a large centre in Europe (but it does have two small centres in France and Italy ). In addition, one of the major commercial reference points of the city is the Alibaba e-commerce platform. The vice governor himself has offered complete collaboration in order to establish first class relationships between this company and others in the sector and the councillor. On the other hand, Yiwu, another of the outstanding cities, and the host city of the Aragonese delegation, is home to the Cosco Shipping headquarters , which in turn is next to the largest port in the world, Ningbo.
For all these reasons, Gastón was “very satisfied” after the meeting with the senior Chinese representative as it holds “great expectations” in the birth of new business relationships. On the other hand, the Chinese region was very interested in learning about the developments in specific logistics training and in the Aragon Logistics platform’s (APL) comprehensive policies on infrastructures, training, research and public-private collaboration. They also made their collaboration available to snow tourism and tourism development in the region, including relationships with marketing tools as powerful as the Alitrips platform, whose visitors include millions from the new Chinese middle class willing to discover the region.
This meeting closed the official itinerary of the Aragonese delegation, lead by Gastón. They will begin their journey back to Spain today.
