The Argonese delegation promoted the “advantages of talent” and specialised training which can be carried out in our region in front of the company. “The aim is for you to see us as a place to invest in,” stated the counsellor.
This afternoon, the councillor for Economy, Industry and Employment for the Aragon Government, Marta Gastón, visited the Technology Campus of the Chinese multinational Huawei, in the city of Hangzhou, capital of the Zheijang region, after her stay in Yiwu, which is in the same region.
After two intense days of work in Yiwu, the Aragonese delegation, led by Gastón , moved to this city with a population of ten million in order to present the advantages of investing in Aragon to the heads of technology companies. Gastón is accompanied by the managers of the Aragon logistics platform and the director of Aragon Exterior, Francisco de la Fuente and Javier Andrés respectively, who have highlighted the “talent advantages” in Aragon to company team members.
As well as highlighting specialised training (higher and intermediate) the Region has, Gastón also highlighted the high level of technology and research centres, such as ITA or Walqa. She also emphasised the strong social climates, technical prestige of some specific studies in technology at the University of Zaragoza, the presence of a private university, the stability and low turnover of staff in these types of jobs, compared to the turnover in capitals like Madrid and Barcelona. “The aim is for you to see us as a place to invest in,” stated the councillor at the end of her visit.
Gaston has been able to discover about some of the advances which Huawei have developed in this R+D+I campus, specifically focused on real-time communications services and progress in the high definition of such communications in different forms. The Huawei centre in Hangzhou has been open for less than five years but already has a staff team of 4000, focused on technological developments and whose average age is around 30 years old. In addition, the company – in a clear indication of growth – has another centre in Shanghai with 12 000 technical professionals working in R & D.
The councillor continues with her itinerary for her official visit to China after the work sessions held this Friday with the board of Cosco Shipping in Huawei. Tomorrow, she will be the star of an official farewell reception before the regional authorities before her return to Spain.
